EVANGELIZATION COMMITTEE

According to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) evangelization is the primary mission of the church. Evangelizing means bringing the Good News of Jesus into every human situation. We describe evangelization like this - "one beggar telling another beggar where to find the bread."

These are some suggestions of how you can evangelize:

  1. Make the sign of the cross when dining out.
  2. Share how a scripture reading or homily has touched you.
  3. Be gracious in the parking lot.
  4. Tell someone who is burdened you will pray for them.

Our Parish Evangelization team's responsibility is to perform activities while encouraging all parishioners to get involved. Many parishioners have responded and helped with projects. Some of the things we have done over the past year are:

  1. Semi annual door to door visitation.
  2. Distributed Catholic periodicals in doctors' offices, and on buses and trains.
  3. Followed up calls to new parishioners.
  4. Wrapped Christmas presents for children living in a shelter.
  5. Outreached to single Moms and children through parish collection of baby items.
  6. Decorated church at Pentecost with ribbons, encouraged wearing red and distributed small bows and ribbons to parishioners before Mass.
  7. Placed Parish Mass Schedule in all local motels/hotels.
  8. Attended meetings and hosted area Evangelization meeting.

It is an enriching experience and we encounter wonderful people. We laughed a lot and would enjoy your company and laughter.

Give us a call at the rectory or call Anne and Bob King (215-942-9895).

We need more of our parishioners to evangelize with us. The time commitment is totally up to you.
